What we write
We write the site’s text ourselves, for this site, and review it before it goes live. Each page answers one question clearly: the result first, then a worked example, then the method and its source, then common questions. We don’t publish near-duplicate pages that add nothing new.
Our sources
- Dates: the Umm al-Qura calendar, with every month of 1440–1450 AH tested against the table on its official website.
- The start of Ramadan, Shawwal and Dhu al-Hijjah: the Supreme Court’s announcements after the moon sighting.
- National occasions: the royal orders that established them, such as the 2022 order creating Founding Day.
- Moon, sunset and dawn: astronomical calculations for Riyadh, with their limits stated wherever we use them.
- Religious and historical facts: only well-established ones; we leave out observances whose dates scholars disagree on.
Images and illustrations
The illustrations are vector (SVG) art drawn for this site and generated in code; the moon in them is drawn from its real position. We don’t use AI-generated images or images taken from other websites.
Accuracy and corrections
Every calculation is tested automatically before publishing, and each page shows when it was last reviewed. If you find an error, send us the page link and the date or result you think is wrong from the contact page; we will check it, fix it and update the review date.
Advertising and independence
- Ads appear in fixed spaces labelled “Advertisement” and are never placed above the answer or the tool.
- We don’t publish paid content or change any result or ranking for money.
- Advertisers don’t see content before it is published and have no influence on it.
Your privacy in the tools
Results are calculated in your browser, so the dates you enter never reach us. Details are in the privacy policy.
